Dark Matter

I've been eagerly anticipating delving into Dark Academia books for a while, craving a mind-bending reading experience. Those who have stacks of books waiting to be read at home will understand me well. Each book realizes its time to be read, and it gets read when that moment comes. In my quest for a little action-packed science fiction book, none of the books on my TBR list were appealing to me. Just when I was about to give up on my new book search, Blake Crouch came to my rescue and introduced me to "Dark Matter.",

Imagine this: You're married, have a child, and you're a physics professor having a simple life. Although everything seems peaceful, in a corner of your mind, there's always your past, the successful scientist you used to be, and the dream you left behind to start a family. One day, you hear that an old friend of yours is going to receive a prestigious science award, and you "madly" attend his celebration party. You want to leave this party that makes you feel the longing for the past as soon as possible. The moment you step out of the bar, a masked man with a gun forces you into your car and instructs you to drive to the address he describes. There's nothing you can do; you have to obey what the man says. Along the way, the masked man asks you questions about your life, and even though you can't make sense of the purpose of the questions, you answer them. The man's voice is familiar, and he knows a lot about your life. When you arrive at the address, the man takes you to a dark place and asks you to undress (yes, it's extremely terrifying). Then, before leaving you alone, he says that sentence: "Are you happy with your life?"

You wake up with your hands and arms tied to a bed. There are people around you, rushing to you and very pleased to see you, even preparing for a celebration because of your arrival. The only problem is that you don't know who these people are and where you are. In order to escape from where you are as soon as possible and go home to your family, you act as if you are really the person they've been waiting for. After a short while, you begin to realize what is happening. You have been sent to a parallel universe, and it's time to say goodbye to your old life.

Isn't it a fantastic plot? Moreover, what I've told you is just the tip of the iceberg. Finding out who Jason is, how he got there, and trying to get back make up the most exciting parts of the book. In this book, where you will embark on a different journey, the originality of the plot and the author's excellent descriptions make you almost become Jason and try to comprehend all these events through his eyes. When you finish it - and I'm sure you'll finish it quickly due to excitement - I'm confident you'll deeply process what has been overcome and how things have reached those points.

Another feature of Dark Matter, which I think will appeal to everyone's taste, is that we can't simply pass it off as just a science fiction book. It incorporates various genres such as thriller, mystery, and crime, and progresses at a fast pace. Throughout the process of reading and maybe even afterward, we think about the effects of our seemingly simple choices, like whether we should move from right to left instead of left to right. I saved the best information for last. Dark Matter is coming soon as a TV series! I believe Jason's story and this complex plot could only be told in a series. Still, I wouldn't recommend waiting for the series to come out to read the book. :)
